Sutherlandia +

Herbal Formula for Cancer and HIV

Sutherlandia frutescens and A. Arborescens are African medicinal plants traditionally used as treatments for:

Ethno-botanical & anecdotal data point to an excellent herbal remedy with outstanding healing properties for cancer and HIV. The popularity and high consumer satisfaction of Sutherlandia frutescens and A. arborescens in herbal stores worldwide is a testimony to their high efficacy. Sutherlandia frutescens is regarded as one of the most profound and multi-purpose medicinal plants in southern Africa and considered as an adaptogen par excellence.

There are substantial case studies supporting the use of Sutherlandia frutescens and A. arborescens for cancer and HIV. The question of whether they work or not has long been answered. The question should be: how do they work? Unlike conventional treatments, these herbs engage cancer and HIV from a different perspective, which is often more effective and without the side effects of their conventional counterparts. The herbs fight cancer and HIV by changing the environment in which they grow and reproduce.

Sutherlandia + is effective on its own or as a compliment to conventional treatments.

Sutherlandia frutescens:

Conventional perspective:

The plant contains canavanine, which has anti-tumourigenic properties, and it is possible this or some other amino acids contained by the plant are responsible for the reported benefits in treating cancer. It is also possible that the mechanism is one that acts on the immune system.

African Medicine perspective:

The plant increases the core body temperature thereby denying cancer and HIV the environment in which they grow and reproduce. This could be the reason why it regarded as an adaptogen par excellence. It is a simple and effective solution.

A. Arborescens:

Conventional perspective:

Various studies have been done in the USA and Japan proving the efficacy of this plant against cancer and HIV. Anti-tumour activity has been shown in various in-vitro studies and animal research.

Some studies show the plant affects the ability of the HIV to reproduce. Researchers at Vanderbilt Medical Centre discovered that mucopolysaccharides found in the A. Arborescens, alter synthesis and thus the structure of the virus envelope necessary for infecting lymphocytes. Further studies at The Southern Research Institute found that there is suppression of the viral messenger RNA in HIV-1 infected leukocytes. Therefore, the reproduction of HIV-1 is inhibited with a natural and non-toxic substance.

African Medicine perspective:

The plant has long been used from the Cape to tropical Africa on its own or together with other plants, for cancer and HIV patients. In Mozambique its popularity is such that it was wiped out from Maputo pavements and the general hospital gardens, where it was planted for ornamental purposes. Missionaries there, who had witnessed its healing wonders on cancer patients, introduced it to Portugal.
