Natural Antibiotic +

Pelargonium sidoides and African Helichrysum extracts

Natural Antibiotic + is a blend of African herbs traditionally used for:

The treatment of acute ear, nose and throat infections (ethno-botanical, in-vivo and anecdotal data).

As a supplement or alternative to antibiotic therapy (ethno-botanical and in-vivo data).

Externally used to alleviate the effects of insect bites and stings, sores, cuts and infections (anecdotal data).

The combination of the Pelargonium sidoids with the African Helichrysum forms a potent and effective herbal antibiotic without the considerable downfalls of its conventional competitors. Further, it may be used to compliment conventional treatments. Importantly, both plant species are recommended for children.

Pelargonium sidoides and African Helichrysum are found in Southern Africa and have been used in African traditional medicine as antibiotics since early times. The Pelargonium sidoides is popular in the European, USA and Chinese markets while Africans favour the African Helichrysum. The efficacy of both plants is exemplary, backed up by clinical results, ethno botanical, in-vitro, in-vivo data and a high customer satisfaction.

Added benefits:

Enhances the body’s functioning and protects it against diseases (ethno-botanical data).

Antibacterial and anti-candidal properties (ethno-botanical and anecdotal data).

Improves the symptoms associated with coughs, fevers, fatigue and weakness (ethno-botanical, in-vivo and anecdotal data).

Is a natural anti-inflammatory remedy (ethno-botanical and anecdotal data).

Pelargonium sidoides:

The success of Pelargonium sidoides is attributed to impressive clinical results, high consumer satisfaction and a fascinating history. Extracts of the root have been available in German pharmacies since 1983 without prescription and have found widespread usage against infections of the sinus, throat and respiratory tract.

Extracts of Pelargonium sidoides have clear antibacterial characteristics against Streptococci, Staphylococci and Bacillus cereus. Pelargonium sidoides is also rich in phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals and amino acids that enhance the body’s functioning and protects it against diseases.

African Helichrysum:

Worldwide, few if any plants have had the phenomenal in-vitro results achieved by the African Helichrysum. This plant has a long and distinguished use by indigenous people in South Africa. Ethno-botanically, it is one of the most important plants in Southern Africa and it is one of the top five Zulu herbal medicines.

The African Helichrysum has taken by surprise the scientific community with its bioactivity. Its properties include significant antiviral and antibacterial activity, considerable activity against fungi and anti-microbial properties. Traditionally it is also used in the form of smoke inhalation for chest “problems”. For a better understanding of this incredible medicinal plant, please refer to our African Helichrysum page.

Although clinical trials and eventual mass manufacturing of antibiotics in the first world countries only started during the second world war, the wide use of herbal antibiotics in Africa is well documented in medicinal books as well as a recent document by National Geographic. New and resistant strains of bacteria and viruses have found more than a match in herbal medicines. The insistence by certain “blocs” for chemical answers to this problem has only delayed and denied the treatment of many sufferers.
