Kaas Vermaak from Sasolburg weighed 35 Kg's and could not even move when he started the treatment. He had oral cancer, gone through all conventional treatments (chemotherapy, etc). Conventional doctors had given him up as a lost cause and told him that he had 3 months to live. One month after starting with our herbal treatment (Matema herbs), his weight jumped to 45 Kg's. On the second month he could walk with the aid of a walking stick. In the third month, he weighed 55 Kg's and regained his sense of taste, which he had lost during his chemotherapy treatment. Last we heard of him, he was back at his work.

Carol Balanco was diagnosed with cancer in the uterus. She was booked for an operation but decided to immediately start with Matema herbs treatment and delay the operation. FAQ 's

Does it work for all cancers?
No. Herbal Africa does not have enough ethno botanical and anecdotal data to support the notion that Matema works for all cancers.

What cancers does it work for?
The plants in Matema are used to treat oral, stomach, liver, intestine, lung, cervical, skin , breast prostate and pharynx cancers. Reliable sources have pointed out that at least two presidents in Africa have already been successfully treated with the plants in Matema. It is also important to note that European missionaries often prefer the traditional treatment and are seen receiving this treatment from T/Drs such as Odete, Chambale and J Ngome.

Can it be taken during chemotherapy?
We advise patients to abstain from taking the medication on the days of chemotherapy. We do not see the advantages of giving medication to a patient when he/she is worn-out and suffering from the effects of chemotherapy.

What about dosages?
Minimum dosage is 2 capsules per day. We recommend that patients take two capsules per day for the first three days. The capsule should be taken half an hour before meals. After the first three days, the medication should be increased to three capsules per day.

How was it taken before Matema was made?
- Traditionally the medicine was given orally in the form of a tea. However, for advanced cases of cancer, the plants were sometimes administered in the form of an enema. Should the patient prefer, we advise that 3 drops of Matema be placed in a enema together with 10 ml of water and applied at night, before going to sleep. This method is the preferred method used by African T/Doctors. In this way, the medicine is quickly absorbed into the system bypassing the acidity of the stomach and liver metabolism. This is the quickest and most effective way to treat cancer with Matema.

- Patients may also use Matema in a bath. Take 10 drops of Matema and mix it in hot water in the bath. Make sure to stay in the bath for at least half an hour and during this time allow for the medication to be absorbed through the skin.

Why haven't we heard of this treatment before?
Herbal Africa was only established in February 2001. Herbal Africa's initial focus was to market formulas in capsule form that had been tested by our consulting T/Doctors. Although the Matema plant and its curative properties are known and used by these individuals, it is difficult to take a natural product and manufacture a tincture with it. There are many unknown factors. The drying, milling and sterilization process will affect the formula. The accurate dosage has to be found and should the formula be weak, it will not have the desired effect. It is also important to realize that the Matema plant are considered a great secret of African Traditional medicine, and only reluctantly have our consulting T/Drs revealed this secret to Herbal Africa.

Notes:

The magazine "Tempo" ran articles on the numerous cancer cases treated by Odete. Doctor Patena recommended his Portuguese cancer patients to be treated by Odete and Doctor Manuel Raivoso often recommends that his patients seek traditional treatments for cancer. During our investigations, we found numerous nurses and doctors that know of and recommend African traditional doctors capable of treating cancer.

To think that cancer is a western scourge is a myth. Cancer has existed in Africa throughout the ages. Africans are specifically susceptible to stomach, prostate and lung cancer due to environment factors.

The African Herbalist believes:- cancer travels in the human body. It is a disease that might reveal itself in a particular area of the body or organ. Once it is defeated, it goes into hiding and the next time it reveals itself it is stronger and more resistant. To treat cancer successfully, the immune system and mental state of the patient must be kept at peak level and medication taken at regular intervals.
